Artist Statement

Creating artwork is a lifelong passion. I have an innate need to visualize the images that are within me and to share them with others. I am excited by the entire creative process from conception, design and completion as opposed to the relevance of the image. Painting is also a form of meditation as well; the peace of mind that creating art offers me is unsurpassed.

I am influenced by nature as well as the crisp, detailed lines and bold colors of computer graphics. I always try to incorporate one or both elements into my artwork. I like to have a semblance of depth within my paintings and emphasize this by accentuating the contrast between light and dark. I strive to make my two-dimensional subject appear to have substance.
